Possibly "Watch the North Wind Rise" by Hot Tuna? No hair, but the wind sun and moon are all there.

Don't think so, but a great song nonetheless. =)

It had great emphasis on vocal harmonization, like The Turtles or Moody Blues' After You Came ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_p_knMRNnM ), just not as fast as the second one. Probably around the same tempo as Scarborough Fair and Nights in White Satin.

The moon, sunshine, wind in the hair was part of the chorus, I think.

Was it completely acoustic, nothing electronic? Not even an organ?

Ventura Highway” by America? All those things are in the lyrics.

No, not Ventura Highway. Yes, completely acoustic, not even an organ. Ventura Highways' chorus is fairly similar, though.

Perhaps something by The Strawbs is what you're looking for? They're a folk/prog rock band from the 70s (with very strong vocals). I'm thinking the song "Starshine/Angel Wine" may fit somewhat, though it may be another one of their's too

Still not it, but thanks for introducing me to a great band! =)
