No, that game seems to be about cancer, and I specifically remember a "mission" brief saying the guy you'd be in had rabies, or was bitten by a rabid dog, or something to that effect. Also, it looks like it's third-person instead of first-person, and it came out about 7 or 8 years after I would've seen the game I'm looking for.

I've never played this one, but could it be Life & Death?

It sounds like 3d Body adventure based on you having to attack diseases.

No, it wasn't 3D Body Adventure either. The only things I definitely recall are the first person, Doom-style gameplay, and being able to explore both a hospital and the inside of patients in first-person.

Could you say what does not fit 3d Body Adventure? There was a shooter game in it called emergency and it fits every point of your description. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfHnv-5InCM.

Yup, that definitely fits his description. I don't know what other game it could possibly be.

That does actually look like what I remember. I didn't think it was 3D Body Adventure because none of the screenshots on a Google image search looked that that, but seeing it in action makes me think Kevonni was right after all. Thanks!
