Could it have been Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon? It had a lot of stuff that sounds similar.

It definitely was not Putt-Putt - I did play those games, and this was not one of them.

The first one wasn't "Schoolhouse Rock Exploration Station" was it? My experience with edutainment games was limited and I can't remember most of them but that did have the minigames/spaceship theme, etc.

No, I don't think that was it.

It's a long shot, but could the fuzzy creatures in the second game be Zoombinis?

Any chance the first one is a game from the Thinkin' Things series? I seem to remember playing one of those that had a one-room pick your game setup, and I think it was in space.

Necro-ing this because I realized that the first one was some iteration of Math Blasters. I probably misremembered the details, but I did an image search and found screenshots that were definitely the game I had in mind.

Still not sure about the second one,. The name of the series mentioned in the previous post sounds really familiar, but it might not be the one I had in mind. I'll try looking it up, though.

edit: OK, it was the second one that was Thinkin' Things. Looks like there were several, but the Wikipedia article does mention the critter-based spinoff I remembered, so I know it's the right series.

Thrasher, I doubt you'll see this, since your reply is over three years old by now, but thanks anyway!
