The "Clouseau-type" accent might actually be from Pepe Le Pew. He often spoke to that poor cat he was always chasing in a light, sing-song manner and called her all sorts of affectionate little nicknames.
Edited by EricaBIf it is Pepe Le Pew, it might be the cartoon "For Scent-imental Reasons"
. Towards the end, he ends up getting chased by the cat instead, and she locks the door to the room they're in and drops the key down her neckline — that might be why the line you remember refers to a key.

Please can someone tell me where this is from: "The key my little cabbage." perhaps i am imagining this line but i'm sure i've heard it somewhere, I think in a Clouseau-type accent and a high-pitched voice. If it's from Clouseau himself i don't know what context it appears in. I seem to remember someone saying this while dangling a key in front of someone else, and that person getting annoyed. There might have been running water in the scene?
