Similar to Lotus-Eater Machine and may even lead to it: A character willingly gives up on some aspect of life for an artificial version which they know to be false, but is still easier to deal with than reality.
For instance, Bob gets a Sex Bot instead of looking for a relationship. He's mocked for it, but he doesn't care: he never has to worry about the bot cheating on him, getting pregnant, not being in the mood, thinking his Fetishes Are Weird, etc. He doesn't delude himself into thinking of the bot as his Robotic Spouse, he's perfectly happy not having to deal with relationship drama anymore and knows he'd be a crap boyfriend and neglectful father anyway.
