Granted, I haven’t watched Clone Wars in a long time, but I don’t remember Ventress’s defeats feeling like decay. If anything, they gave her character development.
I am not sure what the full scope of Badass Decay is admittedly, but this does seem like a bit of a stretch. Ventress being strong and skilled doesn't mean she is some unstoppable machine, and the two characters she is going up against, Dooku and Anakin, are pretty well beyond her skills.
Edited by JMan34 "I created a legacy so resilient that now you come before me."She gets beaten by the (apparent) Big Bad and the guy who eventually kills that guy. So yeah. Misuse there.
Also, another issue with this particular example is that she gets beaten by Dooku like, immediately. There's no decay there, she's firmly and immediately established as not as powerful as Dooku.

This was recently added to YMMV.Star Wars Clone Wars:
YMMV cannot be played with and this seems a textbook Justifying Edit. But I've seen many other Badass Decay examples where the circumstances are justified, or presented as such by the examples. And Ventress was defeated by Dooku immediately after her showing, is that not too quick to count as decay as this establishes her baseline, powerful but overshadowed by Dooku? And why is it not seen as Ventress's skills being made lesser as opposed to Dooku being established as stronger as the work intended.
I've felt Badass Decay had a lot of issues over this, so asking here what to do.
