Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Depends.
- If you're sponsoring a draft and consensus is to discard, or if you feel it needs to be tossed for some reason, you can just kinda do it whenever. Within reason ofc.
- If it's a heavily bombed stub, you can discard in three days, especially if the sponsor has made no effort to work on it.
- If it's an old draft with clear problems (tropeworthiness, stubbiness, being covered, etc) all that's actually necessary is to get the required number of bombs.
If you're talking more about valid discard reasons, that's different.
Edited by WarJay77 Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallBasically, there's a draft
that's currently sitting at two hats to six bombs, and while the sponsor seems to have edited it as late as three days ago, they've not addressed the concerns about the draft's idea being incomprehensible to other people that another troper and I have raised.
I assume that in this case I shouldn't discard it, especially since it doesn't have 5 more bombs than hats?
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Technically, any TLP draft that has accumulated five bombs after three days can be nuked — it doesn't also have to have five more bombs than hats. For the draft you linked to, scrolling to the bottom now shows a button allowing discard. Whether you should or not right now is another matter, though there's no question the draft is a mess and going nowhere at present.
Edited by BoltDMCEhhhhhh... This is a case where the sponsor is actively around. Discarding it at this point isn't technically allowed because someone is actively working on it. It would be considered a rogue discard and we'd have to restore it.
Sure, it's a mess right now. And will likely need to be discarded down the line. But let's not let the coding quirk be a reason for discarding things that sponsors are actively working on and discussing with people. It's not like it's going anywhere anyway — so keeping it around is harmless for now.
Edited by WarJay77 Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallWell yeah, that's why I asked — I can see the button, but the fact it's there doesn't mean I should press it, no?
Either way, the sponsor's incommunicado and haven't addressed the issues that were raised more than ten days ago, despite being around.
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.Like I said, it's not going anywhere and as long as someone is actively working it, discarding it would be seen as rude at best. There's been plenty of drafts to end up in this sort of state, which we couldn't get rid of until later because they were under an active sponsor.
Now, keeping up the discussion and trying to get through to the sponsor — that's something to do, and could lead to a discard down the line. Or perhaps to an unexpected salvage.
Edited by WarJay77 Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallAright. I'll leave another comment on the draft, then.

Title. I looked for an answer in TLP Guidelines and other Administrivia articles but didn't find anything.
