By adding the date to the draft's title and saying so the comments, then reverting the title before launching.

^ Apologies if this seems rude, but I’m kinda having trouble understanding what you mean. Do you mean having the trope title I plan for, but with the date alongside it, or just the date?

^ Yes, edit the trope title or laconic in the TLP draft to add the launch notice/date, then remove it before the actual launch.

^ Alright. Also, should I still add the full description before launching, or just the title and laconic until it’s launched?

What do you mean, add the full description? A trope can only be launched if deemed launchable by other tropers — i.e. having a description clearly outlining the trope and the minimum amount of examples required.

Hold on. Before anything else, is the draft you're asking about your own, OP? You should ideally not launch drafts that aren't your own, either through adoption of one Up for Grabs or one you yourself made.

Yes, OP, which draft are you talking about?

If it's not your own, then you can't launch it. That rule is right above the one you linked above in the TLP Guidelines.

Wild guess, when you say "launch a draft", are you referring to pressing the "Launch a New Trope" button at the top of TLP that initially creates a draft?

Suddenly I'm... still rotating Fallen London in my mind even though I've stopped actively playing it.

^^^ Yeah, it is. Had the idea for a while, and doesn’t seem like anybody’s tried it out. Though, if I wind up mistaken, please let me know.

^ Yeah, I’m referring to that

So, terminology time. "Launching" doesn't mean creating a draft, it means publishing the page on the wiki. So there's no need to "announce" a new draft that you're making; just go ahead and make it. You only announce when you're intending to publish it.

The text of the "launch a new trope" button is indeed confusing, but it's not what "launching" a trope actually means.
