Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

In terms of accuracy, I can't say for sure whether it was a refresh because, AFAIK, Yes 5 and GoGo are some of the most popular seasons in Japan to date and I'm not sure if that was always the case or not (the Presumed Flop entry seems more accurate though). And I don't know much about the inner workings of the franchise.
But I'm in agreement with ^ that that bit could probably be rewritten entirely. Some research would probably have to be done on merch sales to find out what actually happened; providing links to said research may help in cleanup.
Wuewuewuewuewueing my way to the bank. All I can find on merchandise sales is Wikipedia's page on Pretty Cure
and the sites linked in the citations. I could not find anything on TV ratings, if those matter.
Going by Wikipedia, Gogo (2008) outperformed Yes 5 (2007) slightly, and both numbers are a little low compared to Max heart (2005) and Fresh (2009), but nothing that implies a near franchise killer. (unsure how they did compared to Splash Star since its figure is Bandai toys only)
I found a chart of TV ratings
for the earlier seasons and it does show Go Go having lower ratings than Yes 5 and Fresh, but not by a super large margin, and some later seasons get even lower ratings without being deemed near franchise killers.
Combined with the merch sales from the wikipedia page, I feel like any mention of Go Go being a franchise killer should be removed.
As for the work page description, it could probably be cut down to:
I made the edit to Fresh precure's description, removed all the mentions of GoGo being a franchise killer (and similar statements) that I could remember existed, and restored the Presumed Flop crosswick, citing this ATT in the edit reason on all edits.
Closing as resolved.

Fresh Pretty Cure!'s description contains the following paragraph:
I was about to delete this for being critical reception in the work page description, but since it concerns the previous entry in the franchise and tries to tie it to Fresh's decision to revamp the franchise, I'm not sure if it falls within that policy.
Even if it doesn't, I still feel like the entire paragraph should be cut for the following reasons:
- It's contradicted by both the franchise's YMMV page (under Americans Hate Tingle) and an example in the Presumed Flop page. (This was crosswicked in [1]'s YMMV page, but was deleted here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=YMMV.YesPrettyCure5&page=5#edit43385511
. Judging by the edit reason, the example seems to have been misunderstood, as it didn't claim Yes 5 was actually a franchise killer at all)
- I find it hard to believe that such drastic changes could've been done in reaction to a previous season's ratings.
- Comes off as a bit complainy.
- The middle bits contain trivia and review like sections.
- The last bit is a spoiler, literally no reason to include it.
