There is Dead Hat Shot if it's meant to imply that the owner died. It's not exclusive to hats — any object that is associated with them counts.

I'm otherwise unclear on what focusing on the object is meant to communicate if not death of the owner.

Thought of this example after watching The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie , where after the boys' house is destroyed, there's a shot focusing on the destroyed height chart shown earlier in the film.

Alright, apparently some examples of Dead Hat Shot do include non-hat objects, so I guess this could fall under here. (also apologies for the spoiler, I can't get the spoiler brackets to work.)

Format for spoiler text is [[spoiler: text goes here]].

Pothole links are similar, but use [[TropeNameInCamelCase text to substitute]]

There's Wham Shot, if it reveals some huge destruction. It's used in Return to Oz, when Dorothy sees the remains of the Emerald City.

I'm specifying a singular object, especially one that was shown in great detail earlier in the film, not just the entire structure being destroyed.
