I think it would still be an example of a Popular Game Variant, with the "variation" in question be ignoring a specific rule. (For example, ignoring auctions is listed under PGV for Monopoly.)

Is there any better fit than Popular Game Variant for situations when playerbase of specific games ignores some rule for the sake of simplicity or speeding up game resolution due to that specific rule being seen as pointless clutter not adding anything of value to the game and gameplay loop?
