Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help. It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread for ongoing cleanup projects.

The threads are over year old actually, and most entries sound like parody examples, but the Ghetsis one is not.

Yeah, the threads were made last April Fool's day to let people get their parodies out of their system. The pages may be new, but I don't think they're an attempt to end-run anything, they just need to be monitored.

Some info from someone who partakes in the Joke CM/MB threads (and was the one make the current header and to launch the pages): Ghetsis' entry was indeed intented to be a joke parodying people's desire to see Ghetsis approved as a Complete Monster. (As his EP containts a lot of sarcastism relating to his crimes, was also made before the threads were locked and we were thinking about launching joke pages almost a month before the actual pages were launched and the real CM/MB threads were locked). I could rewrite it to be more silly to make the parody aspect of it more clear. Plus, the Just for Fun pages in general were not created in an attempt to circumvent the real CM/MB threads' locking, with the folks in the joke thread specifically agreeing with my suggestion on adding a disclaimer to warn people not to use the Just for Fun pages as a substitute for the now-defunct CM/MB threads. If people decide to use the Joke EP thread or the Just for Fun pages to circumvent the actual CM/MB threads' locking, then I (and probably the rest of the Joke Proposal thread) will just report the rule breakers to the mods and undo their contribution.

^So Ghetsis is a valid joke entry, but could stand to make the humor more obvious. Do joke entries allow others to edit them or just the one whose folder they're under?

Also, from JustForFun.Joke Magnificent Bastard:

  • SCP Foundation: Big Chungus is one of the Fairy Odd Parents residing within SCP-4*10^3. Desiring to return to the outside world, Bonnie from FNAF befriends Dr. Eugene Japers with his knowledge and gentlemanly demeanor, only to trick him into letting him steal his identity, allowing Usagi to happily leave the forest without fear of Foundation interference.
From MagnificentBastard.Web Original:
  • SCP Foundation: The scholar with a head resembling that of a rabbit is one of the faeries residing within "Taboo"/SCP-4000. Desiring to return to the outside world, the scholar befriends Dr. Eugene Japers with his knowledge and gentlemanly demeanor, only to trick him into letting him steal his identity, allowing the scholar to happily leave the forest without fear of Foundation interference.

I ask about out plagiarism policy regarding Just for Fun, as being a copy with some names swapped is the joke.

This isn't an Official Mod Statement, but it strikes me that it might be a better idea to arrange by medium than by troper — compare [Trope Name] Injokes.

As for plagiarism, copying from TV Tropes to TV Tropes isn't plagiarism.
