Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help. It's not for everything, though. Ferot_Dreadnaught is correct. 1) Weblinks Are Not Examples is about example context, not the mere act of linking to other sites. 2) Examples are allowed to be listed for works without pages.

Oh for goodness sake, now I have to undo revisions if you're right. How was it when I created a fanworks entry for video games in the past, it got removed until I created the fanfic page?

what context? it might've been an incorrect removal

Nothing has been removed, only percentage markups added pending fanfic pages, which apparently, aren't required now. The gripe I have is, unless I go onto fanfiction.net I've no way of verifying what these tropers are saying about anything, which I don't feel inclined to do when I want to stay reading on the wiki.

How would one verify any example without checking the work in question?

I see nothing wrong with these examples as-is (aside "This is noted in" and "Another example" Word Cruft).
