Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Ferot_Dreadnaught is correct. 1) Weblinks Are Not Examples is about example context, not the mere act of linking to other sites. 2) Examples are allowed to be listed for works without pages.
Nothing has been removed, only percentage markups added pending fanfic pages, which apparently, aren't required now. The gripe I have is, unless I go onto fanfiction.net I've no way of verifying what these tropers are saying about anything, which I don't feel inclined to do when I want to stay reading on the wiki.
How would one verify any example without checking the work in question?
I see nothing wrong with these examples as-is (aside "This is noted in" and "Another example" Word Cruft).

Ferot_Dreadnaught and I are disagreeing over what constitutes as a Weblinks Are Not Examples violation on the page Humans Advance Swiftly.
The following examples under Video Games don't have any Fanfic pages:
I used the percentage markup to hide the text, not delete it, pending someone creating a fanfic page for "First Contact" and "Transcendent Humanity" as they've done before with Mass Effect: End of Days. However, Ferot_Dreadnaught reverted the changes right back, insisting that "Weblinks Are Not Examples is when they just have a link instead of the context/explanation why they're examples. Those do explain the example even without the link so are valid." They've not replied to me asking for links to the appropriate fanfic pages.
