I think he realized how it came across since it now says that people are free to edit his, well, edits.

Unless I'm missing something here, I'm interpreting it as a "don't expect a reply from me on something petty" rather than a "fuck you, I do what I want" like you seem to be implying.

I mean, notifiers aren't petty and everyone is already free to make edits.

The point of a notifier is to notify when a mistake is made so that it (hopefully) doesn't happen in the future, not to be petty. And I don't think anyone is expecting a reply to a notifier since they're (relatively) automated.

To me, this kind of reads like they don't care they are making mistakes and creating more work for other users. The onus is on the troper who makes the edit to correctly format it, not to leave a mess for someone else to fix.

Looks like a hell of an attitude to me. "I expect everyone to fix this for me."

In either way, I don't expect such messages to be allowed.

In the time since they've edited the message some more and recently removed the "I don't care", but the statement that they'll ignore PMs remained and still remains untouched from the beginning.

Unless they're breaking editing rules by following through on "I'mma ignore these" (like, not heeding the indentation notifier) ... ?

There was no reason to make a post about this, so I'm kind of just crossing my arms with mild disappointment. But thanks for calling out my attempts to reduce spam like it was Twitter drama, I guess.

Super_Weegee is correct though. Just to make things clear, since the OP has chosen to interpret my message in their own way: I abide by every change or deletion of my entries; I find it is a waste of energy to argue over such things. My intent with the message is to basically say "if you think something should be changed or removed then go for it, just don't flood my PMs."

I will acknowledge though that my wording was not very respectable initially and I have since then tried desperately to correct it to make it sound more tactful, and I apologize for that.

I'm not a perfect editor, I'll make mistakes just like everyone else, and sometimes an error I don't realize will go over my head. I won't contest any fixes or removals if there is a valid reason for it, I just don't want my inbox to be pinged about every little change that's made to my edits as it just creates clutter for me, especially since I can just look at the history of whatever page I've contributed to myself.

Good evening.

"improper Example Indentation and Natter", if true, are not "every little change". If an example violates editing style, then the troper who posted added the example in the first place needs to be notified.

And I will accept that for this instance, if that's the case. I just want it to be understood that other users in the past have spammed my inbox for extremely miniscule reasons and I want to lessen those spammy messages however possible (I've never reported them in the past because it didn't seem serious enough to bring mention to).

It's also worth mentioning I never argued against OP's notifier in the first place. Whatever conclusion they arrived at is purely based on their assumptions alone and I find the use of ATT as a means of calling someone out over something as petty as this to be extremely disrespectful, especially since it's clear in the replies that other users have now made their own wild assumptions about myself without ever actually talking to me.

Now since I'm in agreement about the content of my page, I'd like to ask that this topic be closed as I feel any further discussion would be counterproductive. And Homogenized, I respectfully ask that you never contact me again. After this troubling stunt you just pulled I am no longer comfortable discussing anything else with you. If you're going to make a wild assumption like this about someone at least wait for the person to reply back to your PM before you go on a tangent on ATT. I sincerely hope you rethink your behavior before doing this again.
