I think you did the right thing. Removing the entry (which was self-recommended and against the site’s policy) and leaving an edit reason seems like a good idea to me.

No idea if a notifier should be sent or mod action is needed, but I’ll let someone else decide that.

Yeah, I removed the one I found for GOW Ragnarok because of the policy of "no self-recommendations of fanfics."

You cool. And I echoing not being sure if a notifier is necessary.

From experience, it's not a good idea to send a notifier over years-old actions. Removing an example that violates site policy was the right thing to do.

Seconding Riolugirl — since the original infraction was in 2019, sending a PM would not be useful now. It should simply have been removed, which you did, so that's fine.
