Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help. It's not for everything, though. Yes, it's this page. I edited the ask because I just saw that there was some discussion I hadn't seen on other pages than the one I was focused on so I figured it'd be better as a more general ask in case it happens again.

If you have specific concerns with the accuracy or tone of my edits, please let me know.

I would like to let you know, the author in question was suspended for curating the ymmv page of her own fanfic, and it's inappropriate of her to try to get her fans to do it in her stead.

I'm not trying to "smear" the author or criticize her fanfic in bad faith. If the critical examples fit, they fit, and the author not liking it is no reason to remove them.

So, first, I do not do this 'for' the author, I would not have made this ask if I didn't genuinely find most of your edits disingenuous and malicious as well as extremely triggering in some aspects. It's ceaseless bashing on a fic you dislike because it disagrees with your headcanons and you are clearly having fun bashing it and nothing more. As what I have seen of you on social media as well as here is definitely not glorious I cannot trust you not to act in bad faith and will in fact end this conversation here as just seeing your pseudonym made me have a panic attack, which from what I've seen of you, you'll probably be pretty proud of. Not going to lie, if I had known you would answer me, I would have gone straight to reporting rather than coming here.

To note:

1. Ask The Tropers handles both general questions and reporting. If there's an issue with a page, it's always meaningful to pinpoint the issue in the opening question.

2. Disagreements with edits are best to handle in private messages first, then publically if it's not working out.

3. Tropes are not subjective. The wiki can't favor bias in one favor or the other. If examples are inaccurate, please list which and counter with work's context. We have policies against both bashing and removing accurate examples. We can't tell which are which without a comparison.

4. What's happening off-site is nobody's concern as long as the editing is accurate.

More specifically, we have rules specifically against drama importation, and our number one rule is, of course, "Don't Be A Dick".

If there's something going on off site, please leave it at the door. Resolve editing disputes in either the discussion tab for that page, or a relevant thread (the Is this an example? thread's a good shout, if you aren't sure if something applies or not), and if one of you isn't being civil tell a mod. Don't just get into an argument.
