No it din't have cell shading and you could input the name of the character and it would use that name at the beggingin of the game.

Yep, there was no breeding involved, and you could create your own monster, like, draw it and it would become real. It might have not been on the ps2, maybe the xbox but defiantly not the gamecube. I remeber that.

I think the game you're thinking of might be Amazing Island, it was also on the Game Cube.
