Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Looking through their edit history, everything prior to October 2023 seems alright... but since the Israel-Hamas war started they've gotten a lot more testy (although the "zionist" remark on their troper page has been there since June). They've also been putting rude edit messages on their edits to Bones recap pages:
"Whichever MRA keeps adding these entries, do it under YMMV. In this case, yes, it’s objectively true that men make up the vast vast VAST majority of people in dog fighting."
(on changing a Narm entry about misused Norwegian into Bilingual Bonus): "It’s not narm. There needs to be a “European tears” category so Europeans can hypocritically complain about portrayals of their countries while simultaneously depicting the US, Canada, Mexico, etc etc incorrectly. Oh well"
Based on their output, I assume they're a troper who's always had Palestinian leanings but the new war has radicalized them (on this and their other ideological leanings).
That said, while I don't condone the harsh edit reasons on their removal, whoever put those two Hamas Narm examples up was asking for a Flame War.
Bones S 4 E 21 Mayhem On A Cross is the page with the Norwegian example, by the way. It should either be changed back or removed; it can't be left as-is since Bilingual Bonus is not YMMV.
Okay, looking at the history for the Narm pages, they've both actually been there since at least 2018. They aren't new, but my point still stands. I'm surprised they didn't cause trouble earlier.
Re: The Bilingual Bonus example, change it back to Narm, which is what it was in the first place. "(X) tears" is another dogwhistle-y phrase that suggests it wasn't a change made for good reasons.
Edited by MissConductThey can't keep their story straight.
Do they accidentally come across as mean because they're neurodivergent, or do they mean every word they say?
TV Tropes ruined Faust's lifeAny individual examples can be discussed, but AFAIK every deletion here has been addressed.
The narm deletions were... well, not even Right for the Wrong Reasons, just "Right for the rude reasons." The Norwegian example has been rightfully restored and the Bones MRA example mentioned is rightfully gone since it was an improperly written example.

emlovele has made a few edits today with some pretty hostile and (in my opinion) dogwhistle-y comments about the ongoing military conflict in Gaza.
On Narm.Music and Narm.Live Action TV they removed some entries that I would actually agree need to go, but left these edit reasons:
"Watch a news report. Read a book. It’s not anti-Semitic to CORRECTLY point out that thousands of Palestinians have had their property seized ON CAMERA by the IDF. There’s nothing funny about it. I know this site is overrun with Zionists, but let’s be serious for a second."
"1. Again, there’s nothing funny about Israel murdering hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with zero MSM coverage. It’s great that you guys think it’s something to joke about, but it’s like saying a song sang by Jews during the Holocaust is cringey or worthy of being laughed at. It’s not a funny situation. 2. There are hundreds of songs about men getting revenge on cheating women. Eminem’s Love the Way you Lie, anyone? “Ima tie her to the bed and set the house on fire”?"
In my experience, the term "Zionist" tends to be associated with anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, and their troper page further conflates "Zionists" with "genocide supporters". (It also helpfully states that they will refuse to respond to any messages or notifiers sent to them, so...) All of the things mentioned here were edits made today, and I haven't combed through their entire history, but it certainly is giving off a personal agenda to me even if the removed entries should have been cut.
