This has been bugging me for a while, so hopefully someone can help me out?
A few years ago I read a young adult book that I think was supposed to be the first in a trilogy. It was a fairly new series, mid-2000s maybe? Anyway, my edition was vivid red and had a 3D pop-out cover. The actual plot was about these teenagers that read a comic book and got taken into an alternate dimension. The only way to get back to the real world was via the dimension's train system, but you needed a special ticket that was really hard to come by. The kids ended up getting out but they needed to go back for some reason and the first book ended on a cliffhanger. That's about all I can remember other than the alternate dimension having some sort of punk element (steampunk, clockpunk, dieselpunk... I can't really recall).
Does anyone know what I'm taking about?
ETA: Nevermind, I found it literally right after I posted this. It's called Malice.
