I mean, if you think an example counts that hasn’t been listed, you can just add it.

The Secret Invasion example is phrased about how the work was adapted rather than the content of the original work. The argument being made sounds reasonable, just not really the trope since it admits it could work under a different format.

The Lord of the Rings had multiple adaptations beforehand that demonstrated how difficult it was to capture the scope and scale of the original. Just because there was eventually a successful adaptation doesnt mean it wasn't a difficult endeavor.

Comics are just words and pictures. You can do anything with words and pictures.

Yeah, LOTR's come up several times and the fact that it was done successfully eventually does not disprove the example. It's Hard-to-Adapt Work, not Impossible To Adapt Work.

^Understood. My question is does And You Thought It Would Fail have to apply to successful adaptations of such?

And I now intend to cut Hard-to-Adapt Work from Secret Invasion 2023 as it's not the work being adapted. Is it worth moving to the Secret Invasion comic YMMV page? (Or does Earths Mightiest Heroes having less issues adapting it make it not an example? Or does EMH change so much it's not an "adaptation" in the sense of HTAW?)
