In a work that takes place in different timelines, and most of the characters have versions in each timeline. However, for whatever reason, there is one character that sticks out because they are unique in that they only appear in one of the timelines, while not having a counterpart in the rest. For example, Bayonetta 3, has Bayonetta exploring different timelines, where she comes from different nationalities, mainly Japan, China, Egypt, and France. She even meets her counterparts in each timeline. Jeanne has counterparts as well. However, Viola, the other playable character, is only present in one specific timeline, and she doesn’t have a counterpart in the other timelines. Another example would be from Dragalia Lost with Euden. In most timelines, Euden never died at birth, and thus he was never cloned, which is why the “Eudens” that exist in the other timelines are actually Nedrick (who is the original Euden in the main timeline). Euden dying at birth and being cloned is something that only happens in the main timeline, which is why Nedrick has many counterparts, but there is only one Euden. Does all of this make sense?
