The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at the Trope Launch Pad.
Not at all. o3o That's that if you can't see anything, the characters can't. The closest I've found is Offscreen Start Bonus, but that's not for stuff completely off the screen.
Edited by QuanyailsNext question: Do we have a trope for a game on a platform having more or less material than it does on other platforms?
Not a rerelease, and hmm... I suppose I can make the example an inversion of Polished Port, although that'd seem slightly demeaning.
Then just put it down as a mild version, such as '[example] has done relatively well compared to some stuff on this list, but the port was missing this content that was in the original'. It fits better than an inversion of Polished Port, at least.
Oh, huh. Checked it again, and I thought that since 'substantial amount of missing content' was included, it'd qualify. Adaptation Distillation is all I can think of, then — except that that probably only applies to adaptations from one form of media to another...

Is there a trope for stuff, usually secrets, that are hidden off-screen in a game?
