Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
We link by WikiWord, square brackets is for changing link text.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIt's not how it's done here.
Use one of those:
- ArtShift — Art Shift (so-called "camel case").
- {{Art Shift}} — Art Shift (can be used to use only part of the link, separating unneeded part with |, or to write it in lower case or in plural form. You have to use it for single-word links.
- [[ArtShift Some text]] — Some text, used for potholes (and only for potholes).
I strongly recommend reading Text Formatting Rules and checking the source (there a button at the top) of other wiki pages, because Characters.Stupid Short Eevee Comic is kinda messy.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIf you use Sandbox.Stupid Short Eevee Comic or Sandbox.Cheese Nick, you're free to do whatever with them. But other pages are considered "committed", so if the page doesn't follow the manual of style from the get-go, the editor will be asked to familiarize themselves with the rules first. Plus it clogs the edit history. If you're planning to work on a page for a while, please work with its copy in the construction zone, then copypaste the finalized version to Characters.Stupid Short Eevee Comic.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI'll queue it for deletion, so you can create it again if the sandbox won't have any issues.
TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup

For some reason, when I was adding tropes, I finished and noticed that the trope I put in doesn't become a redirect to the trope itself, but it instead appears the way I typed it.
For example, when I put in Art Shift, it got displayed as [[Art Shift.]]
Is this a bug, or did I type something wrong?
