I'm pretty sure D&D hasn't even finished its theatrical run yet, so I don't think it would apply for AYTIWF.

And I know this isn't specifically about Box-Office Bomb, but it making its budget back automatically unqualifies it for that.

EDIT: And I forgot to mention there's no such thing as a "mini edit war"; it's either happening or not. And given the fact that Frankencastle has deleted the AYTIWF three times already, they are edit warring, as well as number9robotic for adding it in twice after they deleted it.

Both users (including the OP) are suspended for edit warring.

Oh shoot, I didn't even realize robotic was the OP. Whoopsies.

So what should be done with the example? I personally don't think it would fit, but does anyone else want to chime in?

This is totally subjective and anecdotal, but: did the movie really have that much of an expectation that it would fail in the first place? It certainly seems like a pat assumption that it would be stuck in the shadow of the previous terrible attempts at a Dungeons and Dragons film, but my awareness of it pre-release also very much included extensive publicity about how the creators were very much not trying to repeat anything about those films.

^I don't think so: people were worried when it was announced initially, but as far as I could tell the trailers seemed to allay the fears. The most that happened was a Vocal Minority arguing to boycott it as a protest over the Open Game License debacle back in January.

Trust me, I'm an engineer!

Maybe the page needs a stronger window of time before an example is added for a work? Like in the case, only until a film's finished its theatrical run.
