Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I literally just asked this in the Web Video thread.
I think it isn’t, for the record.
TRS Queue | Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper WallI mean, I think they do make jokes and stuff from time to time... but if that's not what we're discussing then...
Current Project: The TeamYeah, but this reminds me of other dicussions about, for example, how critics can't have pages just becuase they analyze movies unless they are transformative in some way. Like how the Nostalgia Critic does have a page because:
- He is a character.
- He makes tropable sketches.
I'd lean on no. Unlike the Books on Trope talk, I don't think Watchmojo is even invoking or analyzing the tropes mentioned.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupYeah, it really doesn't feel tropable to me.
To be clear, my post wasn't to imply that it's being transformative or anything — just that in theory some of the jokes they make could be troped in isolation. But that's probably not worth it.
Current Project: The Teamfor the record here's the discussion from the web video thread. everyone involved said it isn't
I would also consider that they are not tropable.
I didn't know if this is the best place to ask, but well. Exactly what it says on the tin.
Is Watch Mojo transformative enough to have its own page? Most of it's examples are just a title of one of their top-ten videos, with the number one spot in spoiler marks. You could say this is just a zero-context example issue, but even with context, you could just go to the specific media they are discussing than to them. They just talk about the media, but don't really add anything new to say they have tropes in their videos themselves.
