On the one hand, the description does specifically say it's when the show's own characters say something was avoidable.

On the other hand, there is such a thing as Conversational Troping.

I think if the critic is pointing it out about their own in-universe storyline it's fair play but not if they are pointing it out about the thing they are reviewing.

Review shows are doing Conversational Troping either imo, that's supposed to be in-universe as well at a quick look.

I would support removing those quotes.

Conversational Troping here would be discussing the in-universe characters realizing such. What these quotes are discussing are Stupidity Tropes not this.

If the review work has fictionalized portrayals of the in-universe characters the reviewer points these out to than it is valid within the review works universe. But the quotes are just out of universe so will cut as misuse.

The first one can still qualify because in that review video they remake the film in an abridged form, and this rant is given by The Critic as one of the cast (I forget which one). You can see it in the way he says "I would be in bed". So it's valid in the Nostalgia Critic's version of the film. But the annotation would have to be something like "Nostalgia Critic in the role of..."

The second one doesn't qualify, because that review is just commenting on the film, not remaking it.

Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.
