yeah i think we should wait until the Neo is actually available before declaring it a High-Tier Scrappy.

I thought scrappies were for characters and nothing else. I see stuff on the High-Tier page that could go to Scrappy Weapon and other overlapping audience reactions (Game-Breaker, etc.).

But as to the OP, listing the Neo already violates Speculative Troping. We can't assume the base Splash-o-Matic means all future Splash weapon variants will automatically be game breaking in Splatoon 3.

I'd remove the item with a link to this ATT thread. Maybe a note about Speculative Troping for (possible) upcoming content could be added to the linked Splatoon 3 page, but have it commented out for editors.

To my understanding at least, things don't need to be a Game-Breaker to be a High-Tier Scrappy; a GB can be appreciated even if it's way stronger than everything else thanks to a role it serves (ex. speeding up the game), while a High-Tier Scrappy is a character or item that is hated for being powerful but doesn't necessarily have to be the strongest. Also, Scrappy Weapon is for weapons that are not good, ie. not a HTS.

Anyway, that's enough suggestions for me to go ahead and edit the YMMV page, so thanks for the opinions, folks.

Sonic Gamer 07 decided to move the Neo Splash-o-Matic entry to Tainted by the Preview with a pothole to High-Tier Scrappy. They were the one that added the High-Tier Scrappy entry in the first place.

I sent a ignored comments notifier though are piped links meant to be broken in PMs? Also is the change to Tainted by the Preview warranted? The pothole to High-Tier Scrappy would need to be removed though.

The Tainted by the Preview entry is somewhat true, Fandom VIPs and competitive players/analysts Prochara and Squid School have weighed in that it's too similar to the existing Tentatek Splattershot. That said, it does seem more like an excuse to shoehorn in that the Neo is a HTS in some form.

and it’s still a violation of speculative troping. i’d remove it myself but i feel like that’d be wandering into edit war territory.

The Edit War page says edits to make things compliant with wiki policy is fine, so since it's violating Speculative Troping I'm going to delete it.
