Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
You can send a notifier by going into the history and clicking the "Send a message" link under the offending edit. Then you just select from a drop-down list (the messages won't appear due to a glitch, but they will send normally and the text is only invisible on the sending screen).
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallRegarding American and Commonwealth Spellings, it's typically "first come, first serve," although there are exceptions.
Edited by eagle108I think the changes are unnecessary on top of everything else. They're not adding clarity, it's just a personal writing preference.
Same with people who will edit in Oxford commas because they think you should always use them (you really don't). Any of that should be "first come, first serve", so long as it is clear.
Edit: I've also checked their history and they're still making these sorts of pointless edits.
Edited by ovskii^ I mean, maybe, but it could just be a dumb username they chose in high school or something. I despise my username and think it's stupid, but I don't change it because I've put too much effort into this account to change it.
Plus, I haven't (yet) seen evidence of lewd edits, which a name like Fapman would suggest. Just a bunch of grammatical miscorrections.
Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper WallBlah, they're also using "smart punctuation", as you can see by comparing their apostrophes to the usual ones we have on the wiki.

The troper fapman has been editing a lot of pages for the Hitman trilogy (Hitman (2016), Hitman 2, and Hitman 3), mostly to change words to contracted forms (it is -> it's, they will -> they'll, and so on). I wasn't sure if doing that is unnecessary enough to warrant asking, but I noticed they've capitalized words that don't need capitalization ("red light room" -> "Red Light Room", "hut keys" -> "Hut Keys", to name a few), which does seem unnecessary. Any thoughts?
MINOR UPDATE: It appears they've changed a spelling of "unsavoury" to use the American spelling, when I'm pretty sure there's no need to change any wording from British to American and vice versa.
