You wouldn't be referring to Ender's Game, would you? The alien antagonists in that book had psychic link-ups and give the impression of belligerence. Some of the details you mentioned sound like that could be the one.

Another possibility is the Time Traders series by Andre Norton. Some of the humans have developed a very high resistance to these attacks in the books, and an entire civilization evolved to completely ignore it.

"The aliens have no weapons" really doesn't fit Ender's Game, though.

Oh, really? I thought the Buggers could only kill with hugs. But it has been years since I've read it. I thought maybe OP's recollection was so vague that EG might fit the bill anyhow.

It's not Ender's Game, and I'm not sure if it's Time Traders, as I don't recall anything about time travel. I am pretty sure it was just a normal Alien Invasion story, as I was talking about how the Lizards in World War had advanced anti-missile systems that were completely ineffective against primitive artillery, and they commented about how it was similar to the psychic aliens being unable to fight against human technology.

Dunno if it was a book; I've seen this kind of thing as a copypasta in /tg/'s HFY threads.

^Looking at that page, something called "The Damned Trilogy" looks like it would be the right one. Thanks!
