Do we have something for the circumstances of a work's production undercutting its message?
EDIT: from Undermined By Reality:Don't Shoot the Message (the overall point of "companies exploiting their employees for cheap labour" is valid, even if RT themselves are guilty of the very same)?
Edited by Bisected8 TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI'm not sure Don't Shoot the Message works. It seems to be about a work as a whole, and it's about how something is presented.
When you put it like "the circumstances of a work's production undercutting its message" it does sound like we should have something that covers that. The closest that I know of is Troubled Production.
If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.Given how She Hulk has a similar Harsher in Hindsight entry that's currently being debated (context: a joke that was made about special effects turned out to not really be funny because it was recently found out that the VFX team for Marvel were getting seriously underpaid and crunched), it might be worth its salt to see what happens to that.
Oh, that is interesting. Yes, it would definitely be a good idea to handle both examples in the same way. Where is that discussion taking place?

This isn't a Harsher in Hindsight example, but the Hindsight clean-up thread suggested asking here to see if there is an appropriate Audience Reaction for this to go under.
