Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

hmm, im not entirely sure that's strong enough for the character to be considered a full-on Expy. id advise waiting for a few more people to weigh in on the subject.
as a courtesy, could you copy/paste the relevant question and answer here so others can see it without having to scan for it?
You should probably take it to the Expy Cleanup Thread.

Q: In general, we meet a lot of cool new characters this season. Which was your favorite to discover?
A: Ehasz: The interpreter! Their name is Kazi [but that will be revealed in a book that’s coming out next spring]. It’s a character who did take some evolution from script to screen, and there were a lot of contributions from the writing team and from the design team as the character grew. But I think that character is incredibly charming and funny, and interesting. I’m sure we will see more of them in season 4!
Richmond: There’s a little bit of C-3P0 in there! They’re one of the fun moments of that season where I don’t think any of us saw [their impact] coming, and then that character shows up and you’re like, “Oh! This is awesome!” This idea that [Amaya] doesn’t have Gren, so this other person steps in and they’re super fun. So that was awesome.
Edited by Avenger09Again, this is probably for the thread, but I will say that it doesn't seem to fit. The quote is just saying they have some similarities, presumably how they handle translation. In the actual show, they come off as more of a generic geeky bookworm than a direct C-3PO knockoff.
I think you can restore it imo because of ^^. That and, Word of God isn't a requirement for Expy. Now, I'm aware it can help determine whether or not a character is one or not. However, it still isn't a requirement. EDIT: Or at least, this is a downplayed example.

When I found out a character in The Dragon Prince was inspired by C-3PO, I added an Expy entry to their folder which was deleted soon after by another troper.

I messaged them with a link to the interview that states C-3PO was an influence but they haven't replied or reversed the edit themselves. What should be done? Do I just restore it myself, or should another, since I'm unsure if that might qualify as an edit war?
