Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

^If memory serves, the TRS thread decided to turn Old Shame into an in-universe equivalent of Creator Backlash, since in practice, there was too much overlap between the two to differentiate them otherwise. The original meaning of Old Shame (a work a creator hates enough to actively suppress) was already spun off into Bury Your Art (and with the scope broadened to more generally cover cases of creators suppressing their own works for one reason or another), but the process of moving Old Shame to a main trope has yet to fully take effect from the looks of it.
Edited by bowserbros Be kind.Yeah, we're still doing TRS work for Old Shame and Creator Backlash. TRS is kind of backlogged right now though so it might take a little bit.
Works That Require Cleanup Of Complaining | Troper WallAs a general rule, nearly any Trivia or YMMV page can be linked to for In-Universe use if it's something the characters themselves are doing.
Trust me, I'm an engineer!

I'm a little confused about the Old Shame trope. It's categorized as trivia, yet the trope page itself also specifies that it can have in-universe examples, and there's an entire section for these non-trivia examples.
I do see that Old Shame is currently under discussion at the Trope Repair Shop, but I can't tell if this is what's being discussed or not. Basically, my question is, can we use Old Shame as a regular in-universe trope (not listing it as trivia) or not?
