Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Is there a male-on-female example in the work to compare it to? If not, it's just straight-up misuse to have the entry at all. And just in the case that it's relevant, Texas also has a Romeo-and-Juliet carve out in its age of consent statute. ETA: Having reviewed the page, it's not, but the example as-is is still misusing the trope.
And yes, they are edit-warring.
Edited by StarSwordI think that this is an Edit War (though sometimes that stuff is hard to tell so I could be wrong) and an attempt to insist on their point. I also feel this note is kinda unnecessary, particularly everything after "so it's not statutory rape". (That and, it linked a YMMV trope.)
So should I delete the whole example or just the note?
faunas is editwarring because they've added a note on "statutory rape" 3 times [1][2][3] when two other tropers said in edit reasons it doesn't apply. They have one prior suspension.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupSuspension issued.
Macron's notesSo should the entire entry be deleted or just the note?
I think it should be removed entirely due to lack of context and reasons StarSword stated. "one still gets the feeling" is not how to explain that the trope is in effect.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupOkay. Thank you. I will just link to here.
^^Yeah, I think that's a good reason to remove it.
Maybe it could be repurposed as Fridge Horror or something if unintentional.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
So over in Characters.Young Sheldon Other Characters, https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tropers/faunas added Double Standard Rape: Female on Male https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Characters.YoungSheldonOtherCharacters#edit33774973
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/article_history.php?article=Characters.YoungSheldonOtherCharacters#edit33775495
The last line was deleted with the edit reason being that the age of consent in Texas was seventeen.
Two days later, Faunas, added statonary rape in parathenthesis in the paragraph.

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were not edit warring and I deleted it, telling them that they had already been told that the age of consent was seventeen.

Well an hour ago they added this as a note: The age of consent in Texas is 17, so it's not statutory rape, although due to Hollywood Provincialism not many people know that, in many states (like in California), it is 18, and even so many people will be squicked by it, accidental or not.

I don't think this counts as edit warring, but at the very least it seems like they are only shoehorning it in to insist on their point. Maybe I am reading too much into it.
