Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Well, since they added it back and decided to bring the trope up for discussion after they realized that they deleted the initial entry back in 2017. I know people have been suspended over edit wars they started over a year ago but I think a 5 year gap is forgivable.
Macron's notesWell, that says "usual" popularity, meaning it's not inherent.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallYeah, I do tend to check the history, but I didn't go far enough back. It was only after I'd saved the page that I felt something naggingly familiar about it, so I ended up doing a search for my name. That's when I found the previous edit and restored it. I might use that find option more often in the future, it's easier than manually scrolling through the page and potentially missing something.
I remember something in the forums a few years ago which really pushed the idea that there was a popular element, the lack of which was resulting in misuse. That was the reason for the edit reason I gave. However, I can't find it right now, and — as you say — the trope description doesn't use strong wording, which makes it hard to know what weight to give it.
Blake has had four love interests in the show, so the entry could be rewritten from that perspective. None of it has been driven by beauty (that we know of; one was a Psycho Ex-Boyfriend), and there's no indication of wider popularity or attraction. Plus, her character journey has been about shedding the "aloof" element. So, for a couple of reasons, she's a bit weird and borderline.
Edited by Wyldchyld If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. As this conversation is also being had in the Is This An Example
thread and and the original question has been answered, I shall lock this query as resolved

In Aloof Dark-Haired Girl, Yukianesa added an entry for Blake, which was deleted by Wyldchyld under the edit reason, "The girl needs to be popular in-universe, which isn't the case for Blake.". However, it was later brought back by Qrow. (I can't provide links that take you directly to the aforementioned edits in question.) However, Wyldchyld deleted it again
with the edit reason, "Trope misuse; Blake lacks the popularity part of the trope.". The reason I'm not sure if this is an Administrivia.Edit War? They soon brought it back
.
So, I was wondering if this situation counts as an Edit War or not.
EDIT: For the record, I'm just wondering if it counts as an Edit War, I'm not trying to make accusations or anything like that.
