It wasn't the last film though, nobody seriously thought it would be the last film and certainly wasn't intended as some sort of finale, let alone a grand finale (especially given how spotty the continuity is most Bond films).

^Agreed. After skimming the Grand Finale page, I don't see how Dalton's last film counts. It's only a finale for that particular "James Bond", not the franchise.

Yeah, this is misuse. It's buried between a lot of YMMV and irrelevant stuff, but the entry actually spells out why it doesn't fit. The film wasn't intended to be the ending, it doesn't actually wrap things up, and it doesn't go out with much of a bang.

It would be more of a Sequel Gap since it was six years between License to Kill and Goldeneye.
