I'd remove these with prejudice.

There are some other examples that are more homages than adaptations, as they neither share the setting or characters. This may warrant a cleanup.

Well I removed the House and Psych examples. Do we want to start a clean up as there are some others that are just homages rather than adaptations or parodies.

Actually it seems that the above two and most of the homages one was added Iridener. I sent them a message to come here.

Also, House is clearly an homage but Psych has nothing to do with Holmes. The premise of Psych is that the main character pretends to have psychic powers by using impossibly precise observation skills and a literally photographic memory.

There are no clear references to Holmes there. The things the entry describes it as having in common with Sherlock Holmes are things it has in common with nearly every detective show on the planet.

I'm fine with removing House. The other I know nothing about it.

I know both programs. House is likely more an homage than a parody, and may be okay to stay. Psych is not particularly linked to the themes of Sherlock Holmes, other than Shaun is very observant. I think it should be deleted.

Okay I can add back House if people think that it is homage enough to be on the page.

I really fail to see why House should be at "Sherlock media" list.

I agree with Amonimus. House isn't a parody, adaptation, or direct homage to Sherlock Holmes. It's a medical drama with gags that Shout-Out Sherlock Holmes.

Huh. I haven't watched the show much, but plenty of people who have recommended it to me on the basis of "it's Sherlock Holmes but as a medical drama"

Assuming Sherlock is a complete asshole.

But anyway, it has been a while, but I think that's just the idea they want to project with that comment, but nothing about the show actually screams Sherlock Holmes. It has shout outs and some homages, but besides that it's its own thing. I think it should be removed.

I removed them both.

Do we need a clean up for the others that are just homages?

Maybe we could move them to ReferencedBy.Sherlock Holmes.

Edit: Nevermind, there is an entry for House in that page already. Given that the show doesn't share settings, characters or specific events, I would personally say the series isn't fit for Sherlock's main page.

Word of God on the Extra Behind the Scenes episode at the end of Season 8 (as recently seen on my cable service) concerned the producers/writers discussing the fans' pointing out nods to Sherlock Holmes. They said there was no conscious intention to relate House and Wilson to Holmes and Watson. The names led to different writers putting in assorted references like the address, the book by Bell, etc. House and Wilson aren't supposed to be the Great Detective and his biographer in our world. Given this, I agree with others that there is no need for House, M.D. to be on the Sherlock Holmes Franchise page. (I have enjoyed most SH works for years. I never knew, until reading the "House" page here that it was supposed to be a homage to Sherlock. Huh.)
