Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Textbook Edit War to me, and also using edit reasons to argue.
I've thought we've already talked about this page
with them.
Old Arturo still sounds like a Nice Guy to me, so I believe that entry should be brought back at least.
Nice Guy is a character defined by their niceness though. It's not supposed to be used for every character that happens to be nice.
Macron's notesArturo has like, a line, so it's not easy to tell.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper Wall- Nice Guy: He removes his hat as a sign of respect for his hosts, and politely but nervously tells them that the villagers are talking about the magic fading and want to see Alma. He also seems to be present in the background when the villagers come to repair the house.

On this
page for Encanto characters, a section was added for a very minor character who mostly appears in the background. The section included two tropes, Nice Guy and Spear Carrier.
rva98014
deleted the section with this edit reason: "Old Arturo exists simply to enter the scene and disrupt the brewing fight between Alama and Agustin/Julieta. He is an example as Character As Device and doesn't really need his own section as he has no established character or personality traits. He is polite and respectful but in his few seconds of screen that it is not enough to prove he is a Nice Guy and his listing as Spear Carrier defines the
role he plays in the story but says nothing about his character. Removing."
RoundRobin
restored the section with this edit reason: "Did a quick read of How To Create A Character Page, and the only no-nos are ZCE's and Speculative Troping. Being a Spear Carrier does not preclude a character from getting their own folder. Therefore, i'm restoring this."
rva again deleted the Nice Guy entry. Edit reason: "Ok, if the character page rules don't preclude a character folder for someone who only serves as a Spear Carrier there's no denying Arturo fulfills that role. However, the Nice Guy trope is vaguely defined and often used to pad a trope list for a character with few character tropes. In this case, however, Arturo simply does not have enough screen time to justify that he's a nice guy. All you can really say is that he's polite and shows respect. Per the definition a Nice Guy is "kind, friendly, psychologically well-balanced, morally good and socially decent in most cases, and in short, someone anyone would genuinely like to be around and have as a friend". You can't really say that Arturo demonstrates any of these traits. Removing Nice Guy."
So is rva edit warring?
