Back in Middle School, one of the classes I took involved several differently-themed workstations; you'd spend about two or three weeks at the station you chose, and when you finished all the assignments, you moved on to the next one. One of them was called "Occupational Outlook" (if I remember right), and it involved studying different careers and how to decide what you wanted to do in life.
That particular station also included a video to watch for one assignment, and it's that video I'm looking for. It starts with three kids each having bad dreams, two about their dream job that turns out to be a disaster, and one who's on a beach building a sandcastle, but doesn't even know what he wants to do with his life and is then confronted and mocked by some adult who calls him a baby because of it. The next day at school, the three... I think they end up in some alternate dimension and meet a man who talks to them about their careers. The first guy wants to be a big rock star, but ends up deciding to work in the technical end of the music industry after learning about that and getting fascinated by it. The girl is next, but I forget what career she wanted and how that worked out. The last student (the one who was mocked by an adult in his dream) is asked what he likes to do for fun and is revealed to be spending most of his time drawing buildings, which the man they're talking with interprets as a subconscious interest in architecture, so the guy winds up deciding to pursue a career in that.
Has anyone else heard of this video? And if so, what was it called?
Until next time...
