The entry they removed.

  • Designated Hero: Mary Bailey, Mr. Burns's opponent is essentially a cipher. It can be safely presumed she's a better person than Burns because he's Mr. Burns and she is supported by Marge but we never hear anything about Bailey's actual policies.

I actually lean toward the removal, that the entry was misused.

Designated Hero is a character that the narrative treats them as heroic despite how they act.

The entry make no sense to me why being "a cipher" would make her better person than "Mr. Burns" since I'm not familiar with the show (I looked up, cipher as a person is "a person or thing of no importance, especially a person who does the bidding of others and seems to have no will of their own.", not very heroic IMO). So at very least, it's ZCE.

Worse, the entry say "presumed she's a better person" so it look like the narrative isn't really treat the character as heroic either. This is reinforced by how the troper who uncommented it claimed "she literally doesn't DO anything beyond sending the inspection team. A good decision, but not something that fleshes her out all that much." So the narrative doesn't frame her as hero and the one thing she does is actually good.

So really, I think Brian is right here (and Pyro's rudeness plus the lack of understanding about ZCE is more worthy of concern).

Even so, it's still an edit war. And while rudeness and ZC Es come with notifiers, an edit war is a suspendable offense (even if it happens once, and even if it's accidental). Plus, Brian KT has a history of edit warring.

Both are an issue, but it's best not to lean into "must suspend mode".

Has a rudeness notifier been sent to Pyro? Or any notifier?

It would also be good to bring Brian KT here to talk about the edit.

  • Sent a rudeness notifier to Pyro because telling other tropers that "[they] don't know how tropes work, do [they]?" is unnecessary.
  • Sent a message to Brian because even if he's right, he's still edit warring.

^^^ are we still on this

no, we don't need to summon to the thread someone who has committed an auto-suspend offense

Ok, so I suspended Brian KT for edit warring and announced it here but then I realized the time stamps and that everything happened February 2021. So, I undid the suspension and deleted my comment.

Brian KT's edit warring were already discussed last time they in EB in November so we can't retroactively suspend them for this. Also, Pryomania was already sent a rudeness notifier for their edit reason last year so there wasn't anything that needed to be done here
