In Naruto the Abridged Series, there's a running gag where Naruto thinks Kakashi is David Bowie. Is that what you mean?

Yeah, that's the one. But in the end, he was David Bowie though.
There was a thing where David Bowie taught Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto. It's voice clips even got used in a gmod animation.
