Unfortunately, that describes a number of FPS games. Maybe the Ziggurat series?
Checked it out and nope, too detailed, this literally looks exactly like doom, right down to how the player and enemies move around.
I recall in the trailer the character picked up what I think was an ice magic staff and fought some enemies in a bluish crystal room.
Your description sounds like HEXEN but the Nintendo Switch part threw me off so i can't say for sure.

None of these ones sadly, I think it was relatively new and looked to be a bit more cartoonish in tone despite the Doom graphics.

Been looking for this game I saw on Nintendo Switch eshop a couple monthes ago, my memory sucks.
It looks and plays like doom but you seem to be a wizard of some kind and pick up magic staves and stuff, I dont even recall the name at all...
