I think some of it is people not realizing you can create multiple paragraphs with the double-backslash notation for things other than quotes.

The first entry at the very least has incorrect indentation use.

Personally, I think these entries are a reach — an attempt to whitewash an obviously villainous character. But maybe that's just me.

Checking though the page history of YMMV.Toy Story (where they used to be) shows those have been there since before February 2011, though the change to one of the bullets to violate proper example indentation was done in March 2020 by Vulgar Bee.

I mean, I would hardly say that Sid is obviously villainous. He's a kid, and most of the animators admitted to relating to him more than Andy, who they jokingly called a freak for being so good to his toys. Sid is only a villain because the toys are sentient. So it's a pretty big stretch to say it's whitewashing.

It is absolutely a stretch to call it whitewashing, and I've seen this particular ACI in a lot of places. Looking at most of Sid's behavior realistically, he's no worse than the average child his age, especially one with potentially neglectful parents. He is a villain, but only because we are looking at this from the toys' perspective.

(I do recall it being mentioned he picks on Andy, though, but that diesn't change the fact that this is a valid ACI entry. Imo the biggest issue is that the entry is way too long.)

^"picks on Andy"

Is that in one of the recent sequels? Because I don't remember that from 1 or 2.

^No, Sid never interacts with Andy in 1, doesn't appear in 2, only makes a cameo (as an adult) in 3, and neither he nor Andy are in 4. If it happens in any supplemental materials, I'd be slow to accept their canonicity.

Ahh, I think I was having source amnesia about that part, then.

Is there a way to rewrite this?
