Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Looking at the page, I think we should just cut it. It was clearly made by someone with no understanding of TV Tropes' purpose, and it feels like it was made to promote the creator's own work. The fact it was made only about 2 weeks ago and describes a user who only started making animations on a children's website when Covid began heightens my suspicions regarding the page. Pretty much nigh-unsalvageable.
Edited by MagnusForce "Detecting trace amounts of mental activity. Possibly a dead weasel or a cartoon viewer."The page is confusing, it seems to be about a person who either created Scratch (even though WP says it was created by MIT Media Labs) or may be trying to say they create using Scratch. Several of the "tropes" appear to be in jokes that make me think of those roleplay pages that only make sense to the players.
In short I have no idea what this page is even supposed to be about (a creator? a web animation? a computer programming language?). If someone wants to clean it up sure, but otherwise I don't see how it brings much value otherwise.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meI'd cut it and subpages for being an unsalvagable personal notepad, we're not FANDOM. It would be easier to ask Wise Wizard 6000 to recreate it from scratch if they're willing.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupSince TheLifeConqueror has severely improved I'm taking back my vote to cut it. Quotes. The Life Conqueror should be cut, reformatted, or remade into Funny Moments.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic Cleanup^ Wait, if Wise Wizard 6000 is the creator of the work in question (as theorized by Magnus Force), they created the quotes page, and we repurpose it into a Funny Moments page, wouldn't that effectively mean the work's creator has added YMMW entries?
Edited by BKelly95Well, we don't know for sure that WW 6000 is the creator, so we can punt that particular worry. Looking at the quotes page, is there anything really salvageable in there? None of those lines seem particularly quotable, nor are they funny. In fact it seems (like the main page) that they are some form of inside joke.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meI added some tropes to the Characters subpage. Can it be restored?
Content Warning: My posts may involve my actions dealing with R-rated or Not Safe For Work content. Same for my edit history.

The page for TheLifeConqueror contains a list of "tropes" that don't actually exist and random images. The character page does the same. (To be clear: The "tropes" in question are actually episode titles, but they're listed as if they were tropes.)
Wise Wizard 6000 is the one who made the page, and I've messaged them about it.
PrincessPandaTrope has added some valid examples, so I'm thinking we might keep her tropes, and delete basically all of the other material beneath the "contains examples of" text
Thoughts?
