Those are definitely just their personal opinions, I've never seen anyone make those criticisms ever. Monsters vs. Aliens is a parody of all those franchises and movie tropes.

The trope is about works that received criticism due to being perceived as unoriginal. The examples are just comparisons, and really unfair ones, given that they describe the film in the most generic way possible ("super-human girl battles giant robot" could apply to almost every superheroine story ever written). It's misuse coupled with Fan Myopia and should be cut.

Edit: Cut the Headscratchers stuff as well. The film is a rip-off of The Incredibles because both films have "violent themes that was too scary for younger children"? Really?
