Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
So if I'm understanding correctly, they are re-adding the same example just using different words? If so, that's an Edit War in spirit if not literally. Especially if a cleanup thread has decided it's not an example.
PS. You mean "we are not supposed to root for", not rout for. Sorry for being a grammar pedant.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meThanks, fixed the spelling of root.
And yes, that is exactly what they are doing.
Edited by Bullman Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThat should be an easy re-removal, since you have forum consensus. Octopedingenue should have gone to the thread instead of re-adding it.
CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floorsWhile I wait for more opinions, I messaged Octopedingenue to come here.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah, I remember being part of the discussion for this entry. From what I can tell, she very much doesn't like her husband by the end once she realizes she can't trust him and that's that.
"Let’s see who’s stronger: someone that has something to protect, or someone that has nothing to lose."Yeah. The entry is also bringing up the guy was married. While also saying that the movie presents it as unhappy.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadSo, am I good to remove or do I need more opinions?
Edited by Bullman Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI think you're good to chop it, Bull
Yeah, that example doesn’t fit the trope. Feel free to delete the entry. Just make sure to cite this ATT thread.
Macron's notesRemoved with a link to this ask the thread and I left this note:
Fan Preferred Couple: Grace/Daniel have been decided to not be an example, since it's impossible to call their canon relationships "creator preferred" which is needed for this trope.

Edited by Bullman Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup thread
So awhile ago a brought up a Ready or Not (2019) Fan-Preferred Couple entry on the FPC cleanup thread here. Were it was decided that it did not count as the film presents what was called the canon couple as something that it would be a stretch to call creator preferred. Basically, the movie has her husband betray her and the movie makes it clear we are not supposed to root for them. So without a creator preferred one it couldn't count so I removed that one and one from the YMMV page with a link to the thread. Well octopedingenue added a new example for the same ship without an edit reason.
This is still misuse, as it sounds like we are not supposed to root for him and his wife either because the entry says they are "clearly wasn't happily married". So, I would like more opinions.
