They're even doing it for edits that don't pertain to spoilers at all. I'll send a rudeness notifier.

Might want to ask at Violations of the Spoiler Policy cleanup thread to see what the consensus is.

There is a big message in bold on the top of the page warning that there are unmarked spoilers, so removing spoiler tags isn't completely out of nowhere.

Well sure, but there's a general message for that for any work that has over two decade's worth of spoilerable material, it doesn't necessarily mean spoilers off

I'm pretty sure that it should be either a warning or spoiler tags, not both.

I've normally seen them used in the "all spoilers up until the latest release are unmarked" context, and assumed that was the norm.

The norm is usually that all spoilers are remarked regardless. Obviously it's context dependent, but the "no tags period" version tends to show up more, at least on the pages I frequent.

Unrelated to the issue of spoilers, I also noticed they removed the following entry on Halo: Infinite's Funny Moments page, with the edit summary: "That's not a bug. That's a specific unlockable stance."

  • A Good Bad Bug that sometimes causes players to face the wrong direction during multiplayer intros has been affectionately referred to as the Caboose intro, thanks to his tendency to not look where everyone else does.

The problem here is that 1) it would still a valid entry as something funny if it weren't a bug and 2) they're wrong. The unlockable stances only apply to the victory screen of a multiplayer match; there is a well-known and frankly hilarious bug where your character will spawn into the pre-game "show off the squad" sequence facing a different direction from the rest of your team. The entry was pretty clearly referencing that; I restored it with an edit reason explaining it.
