I don't see it with a search. I know it was tested on MythBusters, but I don't see it on the Tropes Examined by the MythBusters page either.

Wikipedia calls it Firewalking.

Apparently there's a lot of science that makes it relatively safe and injury-free if done correctly. Convection and matter are still working as designed.

The fact that it's possible to walk on hot coals in a safe manner if you know what you're doing probably falls under Reality Is Unrealistic.

Mm, yeah, I think I've seen that on one or two TV shows, but the titles don't come to mind at the moment. But usually what happens on TV is that the firewalker doesn't know what he's doing and gets his feet burnt. Then everyone's like what were you even thinking!? e.g., Black Sheep Squadron, "Divine Wind."

I like this more as an idea of "someone trying to escape from a life threatening situation."

Ex: In Highschool of the Dead, Takeshi has to walk across a thin wall to the other side while carrying Alice (and a dog) without alerting themselves to the presence of the flesh-eating zombies that are surrounding all sides of the wall.
