I'm looking for an animated series, a short runner from the nineties or maybe late eighties. The main characters were a cat and a dog, but they were mostly humanoid, except for their faces and tails (a bit like BoJack Horseman, although the animal faces were a lot cuter and more cartoony, and the proportions were a bit softer and chubbier, like if they were The Simpsons characters). One of them, probably the dog, had a permanent Instant Bandage on his head. The characters lived in a city with other animals, no humans in sight, and the humor mostly of the Slapstick variety.
One episode featured a villainous gangster, I don't remember his species, but one of his henchmen was a dumb gorilla who carried a violin case. Throughout the episode, the gorilla kept asking the boss "Duh, is it time to use my violin, boss?"
The animation was pretty bland, with cold pastel colors for the backgrounds, a bit like Here Comes the Grump.
