As your friendly neighborhood Admin Team, the gang here at TVTropes HQ is always working to improve the site.
Many of those improvements begin with suggestions posted right here, on the Community Wishlist. Is there a feature you really want on TVTropes? Post it.
Is there something we could be doing better? We want to know. Do you think we look fat in these pants? We were totally afraid of that. See a bug? Report it.
Important things to know:
- We're all about that content-creation life! The top contenders for our attention are ideas that'll create more content, like the video uploading feature, or speed up launching new pages. On the flip side, design or layout tweaks won't be our top priority.
- Help us dig through the goldmine of old wishlist items! If you have an old request gathering dust or spot one you're totally on board with, give it a bump and a like. There's a treasure trove of 6+ years' worth of ideas just waiting to be rediscovered. Items without enough love may not make the cut and will be closed.
- Was your wishlist item locked up without an explanation? It was most likely disapproved or just too big of a task versus the benefit it would ultimately have. Time is precious, and we want to focus on updates with the biggest bang for the buck. Don't be discouraged though! We appreciate every idea and we're always listening.
Good except for the last part. The system has no way to detect if someone is an adoptive sponsor, meaning they're legit but not the OG, and it'd be pretty obnoxious if the system assumes they're definitely not the sponsor. Maybe just make the text permanent and give basic rules about rogue and stealth launching, rather than anything that specific.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallI mean, I don't mind that example message that Silver gave. It stipulates that it's possible to get permission from the original sponsor to launch it, but warns that if they haven't then they will be suspended. It's a good preventative measure and it's not like it will be much hassle for someone who adopted it to just continue onwards knowing that they have permission, plus it would then serve as an extra extra "we warned you" when the rogue-launcher gets suspended. I get what you're saying, but I'm honestly fine with that idea.
Well, part of my issue with it is that most abandoned drafts don't have sponsors to grant anyone permission, so at the very least it could be revised to something like:
"You are not the draft's original sponsor. Unless you have obtained permission to launch or have formally adopted this draft, clicking this button will result in a rogue launch, which will result in immediate TLP suspension."
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallThis is a good idea, my own fear of accidental launch only makes some preventative measure a requirement.
Maybe, make it a two factor thing? Where whoever launches has to confirm by e-mail? Also, a confirm dialogue with a "Are you sure you want to launch this trope?" could be an alternative, as can a timer before "ignition" with "abort" possibility.
AFK with issues, will return

Make it so that when the launch button on TLP is clicked, a dialogue box pops up which informs the reader of the following:
