^^^^ Actually, you can keep your brain on and enjoy it immensely. You just have to be excellent at history and appallingly bad at science.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!See! That criticism is bullcrap already! TTGL is an exceedingly intelligent show! Well, maybe not exceedingly, but it's expertly told and has very strong themes that are well-presented and actually quite smart at the core. Saying that you can't enjoy it with your brain turned on just reeks of having not watched past the first few episodes.
Also you smell like licorice biscuits.

I find the whole "true spirit can beat everything" theme annoying and dumb in any anime,TTGL just happens to heavily rely on it. It doesn't matter how well-presented or smart its themes are, my brain automatically flashes a red card when a weaker opponent beats a stronger one (or huge odds for that matter) because they are The Determinator.
And another thing, enjoyability =/= quality. Why do people always get angry when you point out that their favorite show might not be at the same level as Shakespeare? I enjoy a lot of shows of which I am perfectly aware that they are neither good, nor well written. They just happen to include a lot of my favorite tropes.

The cool thing is that TTGL built a universe that justifies that trope, and ties it into a theme about an idea of evolution that has impressed me enough to become a central part of my personal philosophy.
So yeah.
Hey, I can accept that you didn't like it. But I take offense to the idea that it's dumb, because, well, then you're indirectly calling me dumb.

Ahh, but do you hate any shows despite being aware that they are both good and well-writen?
Regardless, TTGL's plot isn't great, but the several of the characters are and the symbolism is… well-thought out, I guess would be the best term for it.
... But wait, this thread is not about me!
... So yeah, let's end this discussion.

^ I was thinking exactly the same. When Spoony posted his video, I was hopefully surfing the Snop's site for a review in Sponny's style.

I hated the spoony snob idea It was dull and unfunny with lots of nitpicking about minor traits that werent really worth mocking really, the swap show thing should only be done with increably distinct characters with a totally diffrent humor style and really when I think change show I think use one charters humor stlye and character in a diffrent format like say if film brain and linkara swaped shows they have contrasting humer style (snarky comments and direct parodys respectively) and review diffrent mediums that should have happend

She was actually very positive on Gurren Lagann, and the part where she pointed out its flaws was still hilarious.
